What is the best intake

Thinking about a bbk but I've heard some nasty thing about em.

Grimmz 03-16-2006 03:02 PM

I have a mac, but as the recent mania has stated Mac's with the bend into the fenderwell aren't the best... That being said alota guyz just take out the old filter and silencer and go ahead and put in a K&N filter...

95STANG 03-16-2006 03:10 PM

MTs with the chopped up piece after the air meter like Floppy did.

FritoBandito 03-16-2006 03:19 PM

why's this in smack? Just get a kn filter, save the money towards a mod that actually does something.

Jack The Ripper 03-16-2006 04:21 PM

I got the whole K&N FPIK setup. Dunno, woulda been better off just removing the silencer like they said and putting on a K&N filter.
But hey, im happy with mine.

Steeda , Steeda , Steeda

swervo 03-17-2006 06:00 PM

JLT or Demolet tuneable induction. JLT for the price.

r3dn3ck 03-17-2006 06:31 PM

they're all worthless for adding much power. Pick a non-fenderwell model so you avoid any potential drivability issues. Steeda, C&L and many others make nice units. A k&n drop in and removing the silencer is just about as good. Your cams and a lack of displacement are what's limiting your power, not your intake snorkel.

JLT ram air..

NoKturnaL 03-18-2006 10:49 AM

JLT for teh WIN!!

MattJ 03-18-2006 11:09 AM

Remove your airbox and get the big k&n filter and youll save yourself 150 bucks and see about the same performance.

jeredan2003 03-19-2006 03:58 PM

Ummmmm..... Did anyone happen to notice that he has an 03 cobra????????:stupid:

Hes gonna make some power from an intake. ONLY go with JLT or a K&N FIPK. When I had an 03 cobra for like a week I just took out the silencer and it seemed to pull harder on the top end..........

I really say you should go with the JLT. Its pretty cheap too...:punk:

r3dn3ck 03-20-2006 07:54 AM

And the smack hand comes down from jeredan... You got us. Good catch.

Supercharged cars don't have to pay attention to the "CAIs Always Suck" line. They need the inbound air. And for that, I'd probably go with the JLT. Though for me being able to get it in the same color as my car... that's just cool.

Anyone want to buy a Steeda CAI. Maybe 7K miles on it? I'm a get me a JLT just for the color match. How rice is that.

I'd say Kennebell makes the best intake ;)
