Theres a guy that works at wendys that wants to race me saturday. Its an LT1 Camaro Z28 with a 125 shot of NX. I dont know the other mods but im sure it has at least an exhaust and intake mods. It also has MT ET Streets on the back.

I have ran a similar camaro that was spraying a 150 shot and he just pulled me after a couple of gears.

This guy seems to be a little ***** cause he tried to act all "hard".

So could I beat this guy from a 40 roll to about 110?

You'd have a better chance from a stop and up the shot of your nitrous to 125 to make it fair game......Mustangs are holeshots and Camaros just pulllike crazy damn their top end.

 

yeah but they weigh a ton, so from start you'd be better off...if you start at a roll his mommentum is already going and hence any advantage you had is lost...

 

I think you can take him, lt1's are not as fast as everyone thinks. depending on what his other mods are. btw, why a 40 roll?

Does he know you have NX? If not tell him you will run him with out him using NOS. And as long as he don't ask if you have it, that's his fault for not knowing how to negotiate for a race!

racing from a roll is weak. But guess since you have stock tires i am assuming fro your sig then you dont have a choice i would do a 20 roll personaly but thats me. ANd i would say you will lose most likly he has traction and more nitrous and possible even more mods. bu ti dont know if it is stick oe not so who knows.

 

The GT Coupe curb weight is 3273 And the camaro is somewhere around 3396 lbs. If its a manual. thats a 123lb difference not to much. But that is the stock numbers.

 

neither car is that light. those are base v6 modles for both cars.

:stupid: There is some rich kid at my high school with one...its got that stupid spoiler and is striped. I killed him in my car, but he is auto, so I bet you could give him one hell of a race, if not beat him in ur car even tho he is runnin spray.

 

If he's got more mods than the ones you listed he will kill you.

 

You should take him dont worry ..you should leave hard on him...but he is probably going to catch up awfully quick...I ran into the but with a SS LS1 02 Camaro....I beat him out of the whole but the top end in his car was crazy..ALso ran a 95 Z28 and beat it and that car had exhaust, gear shifter, intake but no nitrous...he should run without the bottle.....I dont think you will have a problem though

 

Id say you have it as long as you spray it and hook up.

 

I really do think I have a good chance. The last one I raced had a crazy top end. I will be on stock tires. Thats why im not going from a dig.

This particular camaro has a bunch of body work and weight added to it though. He has a big body kit on it with all the fins and everything. it also has a subwoofer in the back with some heavy chrome KMC 18's on it. I believe its a stick. Im positive he knows what hes doing with it so im not betting on this race.

I know it doesnt have a cam in it so there probably wont be any other internal mods. My car is pretty quick for what I have and its prolly trapping 111-112mph. What kind of speeds do modded LT1's run?

My freinds auto with intake,shorty heads no cats,catback,pulley,tune stock everything else went 13.1@107 my other freind with another 94 auto z28 has cai,same exhuast and a 100shot went 12.4@116

 

You should do ok as long as you hit all of your shifts and you Juice it at the right time. I would not bet on the race though because these cars do have a hell of a top end on them and that could be what kills you from a roll.

 

ls1's have a hell of a top end, lt1's are horse****.

 

LT1's contrary to popular belief are not that bad. They take to mods quite well.

im not talking about the 351 block ya dip ****. im talking about camaros, firebirds, corvettes with the lt1. the only reason i think the camaro has a chance is because he has such a big shot of nitrous. without that jeredan would blow him away.

So, if you win, you have beaten a a guy that works at Wendy's and drives a Chebby. If you loose, well that is just too horrible to say. So, you have nothing to gain by racing this kid. In a manner of weeks, the car will break and we won't be able to fix it anyway. I say pick better battles with people that have more to loose.
