If my car was included has this problem? Im not experiencing any probs now but, i want to avoid them as well...My build date was 09/97

You are unfortunately outside of the settlement range. Only covers as far back as 98. Of course you could join the lobby of people who think this is unacceptable and damand that Ford cover all plastic manifolds, 96-01.

 

I had to replace mine a year 1/2 ago because it cracked at the thermostat. I called Ford to ask if there was a recall and they said no, but took my name and info down because if enough people had this problem they would have a recall. Low and behold there ended up being a lawsuit. I got my letter in the mail giving all the details about court hearings and when everything would be final.
