Spring Replacement woes.
Anyone got any suggestions on a good set of spring clamps?
The first set i got go inside the spring and hook onto it, unfortunatly they do not compress the front springs nearly enough to get them out.
So i got a different set, it is a dual-set of clamps that clamp on the outside on either side, unfortunatly they hug too close to the spring and wont because the screw is way too long and there is topo much stuff surrounding the springs for them to fit.
Has anyone done this? Ive done springs in other cars, but ive never had the problems ive had with this mustang.
I havent even tried the rears yet, but they look like they would be a piece of cake by the way they are fit in there.

You don't need to compress the springs...just unbolt the 2 bolt that hole the strut and drop the whole caliper assembly...there will be a tiny bit of pressure but you can yank it out. just don't kill yourself.

I also tried unhooking the strut from the the top, but the whole assembly diddnt drop any further, i might have to remove something else as well.
this is really turning out to be a pain. Damn ill be happy once i get it done. <grin>

I guess ill try it again here soon.
See, i tried what everyone else had done. however i disconnected the strut from the top and nothing happened, nothing moved. The entire assembly diddnt drop down.
Maybe i oughtta try pulling it down.
Is there anything else i wil have to disconnect to do this? Maybe mine was just stuck.
Ill give it another shot when i have some time, thanks for all the responces!

That's kinda what happened with mine.The passenger side dropped just fine,the driver side however had to be coaxed down.There's some kind of body imperfection on my driver side inside of the fender that prevented the strut from dropping.Feel inside the fender to make sure nothing is interfering with the strut dropping.Reinstalling the strut took two people.My friend SLOWLY raising the jack to compress the strut while I made sure the strut cleared the imperfection in the fender.
