gears?!?!

im wondering how bad of gas mileage gears will get me?
i want to stay close to the stock miles per gallon as i can i want it to be quite balanced on the highway and city.

So long as you keep your foot out of the hole, it will net you about the same mileage. Im running 4.10's in a Cobra and im still getting respectable hwy and city miles.

when i went from Illinois down to Florida, i averaged 25.4 mpg with 3.73s. the most mpg i got on the trip was around 27 mpg

Negligable difference. I got 270mi out of a tank with a stock tune and gears. I get 250 out of a tank with 4.10's and an agressive tune. I think I lost more off of the tune than the gears.
