Default When Has Hard Work Paid Off for You

Tell me about a time when hard work paid off.

I belive in hard, honest, full effort work. I was hired into my company only three months ago, been working my *** off to learn everything and do the best job I can. I offer to work late, come in early, anything I can do. Last week I applied for a different position that paid more, knowing that I was lacking in experience, but not in confidence that I could do the job. My boss had me into his office yesterday asking me if 'd be interested in taking on some more responsibilities working with a senior engineer and taking some of his work load, I accepted without talking about a raise in pay. Today, I get called into the HR lady's office, they offer me a 75% pay increase! I was nearly floored. After filling out some paperwork I went to go talk to my boss. He said that after the other Engineering manager came and asked for his recommendation for the position I applied for, my current manager just couldn't let me go, so he decided to offer me a better deal.

Feels good to have people within the company fight for you.

I'm also getting good results from working out everyday. Ripped like Jesus.

Superb. Good story that makes a change from the normal doom and gloom.

You got lucky accepting extra responsibility without a pay raise. Congrats buddy.

Thanks, it was something that really set my future with the company. I was wish-washy on if I wanted to stay there longer than six months. After this, I plan on being there for at least a couple of years, which is thier plan also.

But really, I want to hear about you guys' hard work and how it turned out to be totally worth it. Be it professional or personal.
