Default coolant light keeps coming on ...

My coolant light just keeps coming on and off and I have no idea why. Sometimes when I first start my car it will be on, and sometimes it takes a while to come on, and sometimes it just goes off. Its completely random, and my temperature gauge is normal, it starts regular, and only goes up to about half way, like normal, after my engine has been running for a while.

Any ideas of why this is happening?

Thanks.

That's actually the coolant light. Go check to make sure its got coolant and if it does then its not uncommon for after awhile the senor to go bad.

coolant is a little above the line where it should be. my mechanic filled it up a month or two ago when he installed my lower intake manifold

i guess this means the sensor is messed up.

do i need to buy one of these?

I replaced it, and the light is still on. And as bazaar as it sounds, there is also a creaking noise near my front right tire, sounds like the shock is making noise or something. I feel like I'm even worse off than before haha.

Suggestions?

Squeaking was unrelated.

Replaced sensor, light is still on. Any ideas why?

You may have to reset the sensor.

Did you do a coolant flush and fill too? Also I can't remember is that light is a code stored in the ECU or not. So reset the ECU and go from there.

To reset it turn the headlights on and take off the Neg. Battery cable for 5-10 mins. This will drain the ECU and reset it.
