Default cold air intake is great

i just got my CAI installed two days ago and boy do i love the sound of the engine along with my dual exhaust.it makes it more throaty and if u listen carefully u can here it sucking the air. not a whole lot of Hp increase but it makes it sound way better and it looks pretty sweet under the hood. i also just got the $75 CAI on MT, so dont waste your money and get the expensive brands there all the same. i encourage u V6 owners to purchase this cheap mod for your car.

if its chrome, its a waste of money, unless you like your intake to heat up.

Yeah I custom made my CAI out of PVC when I made our Custom MAH, no bottle neck and 76.1mm all the way to the Throttle body.

lets all god back to the college years when we are sitting in Physics. What happens when air moves quickly over metal? It heats up due to the friction, and when metal heats up, its take a long time to cool. Downfall, your air intake temperature rises, and your A/F ratio suffers. Lts try the same with plastic, hrmm after 500 miles, its still not hot, hardly even warm to the touch...What the.... ohh yeah it disapates heat easier then metal which is a conductor of heat.

For $25, ill bend some pop cans and solder them together, voila Cold air induction.

well that one u have on ebay looks alright but there is still the fact that it is only $25. but if u trust ebay then go for it cuz it looks somewhat similiar to the one i purchased on MT. that is a good point about the difference between metal and plastic but the metal looks sweeter under the hood giving it a shine.

when i drove to florida like 2 weeks ago my cai was cool to the touch. it only heated up when it sat still. I agree with plastic but not the friction part. it's the way the metal conducts the heat from the motor not friction.
