Default What are my options?

My dad said he wants to get an off-road H-pipe for his cobra for christmas.
He already has mufflers so he just needs the bit in between the headers and the
chambers. He has a 98 Cobra (which is obviously the DOHC 4.6). I've looking through
AM, but I'm not sure. he LOVES mac. What are my options?

I have the SLP x pipe it makes cats hang way low I would go Mac or Bassini. Mines lowered 1.5 and the cats would scrap a speed bump plus you can see them for miles.

If he's going with an o/r h, they're all about the same really. An H pipe is pretty much an H pipe. Get a Summit Racing one. They're cheaper price wise, and will sound exactly the same as any other higher priced h pipe. That's what i'm running is a Summit o/r h. Just my .02

Get the cheapest one you can find. A mid pipe is a mid pipe. And H-pipe for the win!

So I guess I'm just still wondering, will any old H-pipe fit his Cobra? I typed in 'Cobra H-Pipe' on Summit but it gave me a whole bunch

No not any old mid pipe. You need one for 96-04 4v car, though the 2v one works to as they both share the same mid pipe.

It will be very loud!!! So make sure he knows that!! Our Mach 1 has a Mac off-road H-pipe, no cats of course, and slp loudmouth mufflers, so be careful!! lol

Eh shouldn't be too terribly loud. I run an o/r h and Pypes Violators. It's loud if you get on it hard, but if you drive normal, it's pretty tame.

Get it fixed. I had the same problem with my BBK off road h-pipe for the longest time. They just bent the pipes so they arent saggy looking anymore.

Before running the cheapest ones, here's some things to consider:
1. Corrosion. If you drive on salted roads, stainless pipes are nice. Also, if you plan on keeping the exhaust the same for as long as you can tell, again, stainless will outlast anything.
2. Fit. Some of the cheaper ones sacrifice fit. Make sure the pipe fits right or you will have leaks (especially w/ the passenger side).

There's no need to buy the most expensive pipe but be wary of the dangers of the cheapest ones.
