Default Finally in the 12s!

2003 Mustang GT hardtop with manual tranny.

Yea It went 12.92 with a 1.95 60ft,and a 8.53 1/8th. It was the first time spraying the car on a track so I know theres more left in it. I am running the stock tune so a custom tune should drop at least a tenth or two.

Mods include: 75 hp shot of ZEX wet nitrous, MAC cold air intake, stock plenum and throttle body, Steeda pulleys, Pro 5.0 shifter, UPR offroad X-pipe, Flowmaster cat back, 255lph fuel pump, Nitto Drag Radials, spare tire removed, front swaybar removed, and 1/2 tank of 93 octane with octane booster.

I ran against a pretty much stock SRT-4. Dont know what his mods were but it had slicks and the blowoff valve was loud. He ran a 13.8 with a 2.21 60ft. Oh yea and removing the front swaybar really works. The front end wanted to come off the ground so bad.

With a few more mods, next time im goin huntin for stock 03 cobras!

Congratulations on running a 12. You still have more left in it for sure, get a good safe tune and some gears and you will drop another half to three quarters of a second.

yes its 6 bolts total to take it off. unless i cant count anymore. just unbolte and remove

nice run

a little off topic now but with the sway bar removed does it affect regular driving? do most people leave it on except when they go to the track?

I didnt feel much of a difference when I pulled mine off! just when you corner really hard? btw nice #s

I am running 275/40/17 Nitto Drag Radials on the stock 17x8 rims. They hook great at the track. I know theyre not ideal for the best handling but I cant tell any difference in normal street driving.

Yea its easy to take the front swaybar off. It took me all of 5 minutes or less to take it off.

Yea handling is noticeably worse. Dont try making any fast and sharp turns with it off. Ive had mine off for about 3 weeks now. I dont really drive it that hard on the street but, I like to show off to ricers by lifting the front up really high while im driving.

Thats another thing my front end doest really lift that high? but Iam pretty sure it cause of my Eibach springs!

I have had my sway bar off for at least 18 mos. I corner hard and drive like a fool with no issues. It takes a little getting used to but you'll be fine. I have Steeda sport springs and I had to install a set of adjustable drag struts to get the front to raise up.

So what is the point of taking off the front sway bar? I know with all the jeeps I used to off-road I did it for flexing the suspension. But why for the track?

LOL this thread is SO old I have a whole different setup now. lol. Man I cant wait to run it at the track soon. Its getting tuned sometime soon.... I may wait to get it tuned before I take it back to bowling green. I would also like to have traction so I will need new tires. The nittos were hookin but I couldnt even get these street tires to hook while N/A........

Hopin for lower 12s.........then ill post a new thread
