Default I got invited to Lil Wayne's Music shoot 56k BEWARE

So... i get a call from one of my buddies that works at a nightclub and he tells me theres a rapper filming a music video there and they are looking for nice cars to put on the video.
I tell him i have a few friends with ferrari's, a murcielago, a red viper and my blue viper.
He invites us to pass by that night with the cars, they ended up paying us all for having the cars in the music video. At the last second though they decided not to put mine in the video because it was blue, and they only wanted to use red and black cars. However they still gave us a complimentary VIP table and a few liquor bottles for with an open tab for us to enjoy.
it was also a fun experience meeting the rappers even though im not much of a rap/hiphop guy.

Yay. Another typical money throwing around, girls in skimpy clothes shaking their asses and *****, look at how cool I am and how gold my grill is, look at all my bling, thug video. No offense to you or anything. It's just that all those videos are the exact same is all I'm saying.

It's cool that you got invited, though. Your friends have some nice cars.

I can't express how much I hate Lil wayne. and yes, all these videos and songs are the same bunch of crap. No originality at all. All we'll sing about is bling, money, bitches and thats about it. At least back in the day Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog and them had some skills and didn't just sing about money and hoes.

yes!

I would have turned down the request, due to not wanting to be a part of the thug infesting, social brainwash bullshit every rapper of today participates in. I dont care how much $$ they were offering.

lil waynes music is ******* terrible to boot... all of it...his voice...he tries to sing...and has a computer generate his voice and it still sounds like ****.. I hate rap, but have to hear it from time to time so at least im talking about it from an experienced perspective.

I cant even say that experience was neat...maybe for you, but I see too much wrong with the whole hiphop/rap culture to have anything positive to say about it, or anything related to it. The whole scene needs to go the **** away.

Zig, there are some rappers that just brag about what they have, and act retarded.

However, there are some that are very inciteful, and intelligent. If you don't believe so, maybe you should gain a little more experience.

I don't like country music. I think it sounds like ****, but i wouldn't say it should go away.

name one....of TODAY'S rappers...

I was a rap fan back in the day when rap was nothing like it is today... when rap was RunDMC... the rap of yesteryear is NOTHING like the total **** that is out there today.

and country doesnt motivate criminal behavior...rap does, thats one of a few reasons it needs to go away.

Mos Def, Common to name a few.

2Pac made gangster rap huge, but he was also one of the most intellectual, and intelligent rappers ever.

Mos still talks about stupid ****....but not often... Common? are you joking? hes a thug.. but not quite up to young jeezy standards.

both of those guys are less like todays rappers and more lke the rappers of 20 years ago, ill give you that.

I still cannot support a musical genre that promotes thug behavior and thug lifestyles... and with that, I cant support the fringe of the genre either.

I think a LOT of the rap you have out there sucks. Most of it is just developed as a product, not as an art. It is meant to be played in the clubs then thrown away for the new big single featuring lill yoyo and big D's.

my wife listens to a lot of that garbage, like that "you spin my head right round right round when you go down, when you go down town" (great, a song about oral sex in the club, how classy) and personally i think it is has absolutly zero artistic meritt. Pure bubblegunm garbage meant to be listend to untill it is played out then replaced with something equally stupid.

I dont think that there are NO good rappers out there, but unfortunatly the money is in the club scene and they are trying to deliver a product tailored for the club. Not a quality CD.

The good rappers just dont get the massive financial backing that the fluffy fluffy foo foo bullshit rappers do.

Atmosphere, now that is some good ****, and it is also proof that quality rappers are still around and not just lining thier pockets with vulgar sexual statements looped to a 3rd rate beat.

Hell, i dont much care for country, but ill admit Toby Keith had more musical and artisitc talent in his beer-farts half the new "Club hop" scene has combined.

However i would probably still have checked it out, the lack of content aside, i bet it would be a pretty fun party.

i sure as hell wouldnt even bother streaming thier MP3's off a sharing site though.

Zigg, i cant provide a LONG list of good rappers, but Andre 3000 and Slug from Atmosphere are two good examples.

they sure dont get much radio play compared to the Club Hop groups

I noticed that right after I posted the picture. Does Dodge have a truck similar to the 650? Kind of looks like a Ram front end.

Pretty sure it's just a stretched F-250.. Definitely a Ford though, look at the drivers side window.

And just to put an exclamation point on this whole thread..

Pretty much all new music sucks. Yes, there are a very few exceptions.. I don't care whether it's rap, rock, pop, country-pop, whatever it is.. It has all been watered down and most of it has no character or meaning. All of the rappers are ripping off older music, Kanye has done countless covers, then that new "you spin me right round" bullshit. Let me know when music has some substance and isn't simply a marketing tool or a quick money scheme and I'll come back to it.

Until then I'll stick with Killswitch, Soil, etc. etc..

Lil Wayne ******* blows....and all I listen to is rap. Also any mainstream rap or **** you hear on the radio completely blows, Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy are probably the best examples of that.

That is badass that you got invited though, even though Wayne does like ***** that's still one hell of an experience.

Dilated Peoples, Self Scientific, Planet Asia, Little Brother, Atmosphere, Nas, Heiroglyphics, Gang Starr.....just to name a few. Look rap music on the radio is watered down and by no means should even be considered rap. Since your so "experienced" in rap i would think you know this. Just because artist dont make it on the radio doesn't mean that there arn't any GREAT lyricist these days. I roll thru my Ipod and find countless MC's that have amazing skills. Hip hop isn't dead...the radio is....
