Default Need Help!

I have a 95 V6 3.8 fuel injected mustang with 130,000 miles on it. Im currently looking forward to putting a new American Muscle Cold air intake into it but i have a question. If i put in the economical Cold Air will it still sound the same as the BBK performance Intakes? One more thing, im also looking to upgrade my throttle body to a Power-plus series 56 mm body, iv been told by a couple of people that with the amount of miles on my car this combined added power will blow my engin within the next year. Is that true?

Stay away from TB upgrades. With the engine you have you won't get
enough power to do anything with. the cold air should sound the same.

If you really want serious power upgrading, I'd say go with 4.10 gears and a T-lok.
Doing anything with your air besides supercharging won't give you results on a 6.

Add some mods to flow more air will not "blow" your engine up. They are just uninformed about how a motor works. As for the cai get the cheapest one you can find and dont bother with the Throttle body its a waste of money for you. Your two best cheap bets for power are cai (simply because they can be had for so cheap on ebay) and a under drive pulley set for the 3.8 are two good cheap mods. Other then that your gonna want to do gears and other things.

Hey. I answered my own question about the transmission gears. Are they hard to put in? but i still have no idea what a Tlok is.

Its time consuming and takes someone who knows what they are doing. You cant just toss them in and expect them not to whine out the ***. The Traction lock also know as the T-Loc is Ford's name for their posi unit. The v6 does not have one and the price to install it is the same when you get gears or if you dont add one. Because your stock open differential (non posi) has to be removed no matter what to install the new gears.

I know someone who will do it for a cheap price You can spend money on the T-Lok to hook posi if u want, it's basically the same amount of work as doing the gears anyways. plus you'll spin your tires better which is grrreat. You're gonna need new valve guides most likely. Get new injectors because I know the ones in there have been there since 1995... degrease the engine, seafoam. It'll be good as new and better

I wouldn't toss money at things if they aren't broken.

i would throw money into things that are crap. valve guides go at about 120 000 miles, you should know that. and i know from experience that those injectors aren't doing well
