Default 3.8 brake upgrade

Got a '98 3.8 vert. Putting on a set of '99 35th Ann. 17" GT wheels; want to upgrade brakes. NewTakeOff has late GT calipers and Discs. What am going to run into on this project?

What year brakes? 99-04 GT brakes bolt right on and are a decent cheap upgrade from the 94-98 v6/gt brakes.

Thanks, that sounds like a good option. The parts from NewTakeOff are 05-08 but I thought I'd read somewhere that they would bolt on if a spacer was used but don't remember what thickness was recommended.

I'm not 100% on if 05+ GT brakes bolt on 04 and older cars. I do know that the 99-04 GT ones will bolt right on and can be had used for super cheap if you look around.

Thanks, I'm not going to get up to any speed the GT brakes can't handle anyway. I sold my motorcycle for age and health reasons; the vert. is my substitute fresh air machine. From that great American philosopher, Clint Eastwood: "A man's got to know his limitations".

no you wont, neither will most GT's.

GT eater makes 660rwhp and still has his stock brakes. 99-04 brakes that is.
