awesome news bud. Make sure it has had the Cooling system upgrade via Ford TSB. 96's came with a subpar Cooling system.

Other than that...just be ready to have alot of fun. First off get some 4.10 MINIMUM...if you never plan on going FI get 4.30's.

These DOHC are a completely different animal then the 2V counterparts. They love to rev.

I got brave sunday night and told my wife that I will get a cobra before I die. She said OK . I guess in Mustang heaven everyone gets a COBRA. :icon_pale

 

Told mine that I was going to get an 07 Cobra,she just said that she wondered when I would have time to drive it with my 2nd job taking up my time

i was just joking. im surprised i have never heard of this cooling problem before. so its just a radiator problem? if so get one of thjose pretty fluidyne ones

 

it's atleast that. i noticed it in winter right after i got my car going x-mas shopping. got real hot sitting behind another car turning into the mall. now i always sit atleast a car or a car in a half back off people. it climbs fast to.

Cobra shall have 4.30s. No less, because you have the higher revs.

i think they come with 285 flywheel hp? and i agree on the 4.30s. if i had that cobra i would have a nice NA setup with that 4v and 4.30 gears

 

they came with 305hp at the crank! and definitly go with 4.30's!!!

 

i thought the 99s had 305? or was that 315? ahhh who knows. get some 4.30s and some headers and your good to go

LOL no...im gonna chip it first, it already has flowmaster exhaust on it.

Im probably going to put a Chip in it then an X-Pipe, and we will go from there. Probably going to go with 3.73's or something like that. Man is that car SOO nice though.

 

NO NO NO NO NO! Way too low for that car. MINIMUM go 4.10s. Even on 2v people say 4.10 and we rev lower.
