weird sound can't figure out what's wrong
when i drive my car and give it gas my car makes no noise. as soon as i let go of the throttle the car makes a constant clicking noise and the faster i am going the quicker it rattles. if i roll in neutral it makes the noise whether i give it gas or not. at first i thought my exhaust but it not that. i think it has something to do with either my rear differential or gears. maybe a tooth missing from the gears? it is deffinately coming from the rear of my car too. not sure but i need to fix it before i sell my car and don t want to pay alot of money just to diagnos the problem. through some ideas my way with any info.

its probably the rear diffs. get it checked out before what happend to me happens to you. i was going 10-15mph and all of the sudden it stopped on a dime completly. done that twice with a clanking noise in it when i went into 2nd gear. when i hit the brakes the noise got louder. but please get it checked as soo as possible, who know you could be driving along going 50-60 and it does that to you. it was scary only going 15mph and it happening. lol. i cant imagine going 50-60mph and that happens.

if one of your buddies has a car with the axles exposed..(not our cars unless its an IRS) you can tightly tie long zip ties around them in such a way that they hit something as the axle spins. Think "baseball card in the spokes"
