my car has recently started making a chirping noise while driving. sounds like its coming from the steering wheel. sounds like a cricket...seriously. i haven't had time to open the column up yet and take a look. its a 99 gt. any ideas?

 

it could be the Throw Out Bearing in your trans

 

Could be a cricket in your steering column.... Or a throw out bearing like iwannago said. Does it stop when you push in the clutch?
