x- or h-pipe?
I've been lookin' around for exhaust set-ups for the 'stang and was wondering if I should get an x or h-pipe. I know what the obvious difference is, but does the crossover change tone or power or anything like that?
It'll change the tone but won't effect power on our engines.
x's and h-pipes dont have a difference in the level of noise. The x will hands down be raspy as hell on a v6 (they are damn raspy on v8's) the only mid pipe you sohuld even do to a v6 (not that you even need one with even firing order motors) is an H-pipe to help keep some deepness to it.
depending on what state you live in. or if you just dont care of emissions..
if you live in california, go with the magnaflow full catback exhaust X-pipe. or if you dont care about emissions go with a bassani X-pipe. (magnaflow are legal.. and ANY other x pipe are illegal) as far as noise. X-pipe make far much noise than the h-pipe due to the fact that when the exhaust gases are traveling thru your h pipe, they have to make a full 90 degree turn, and cause a lot of restriction. x pipe forces air out with a swirl (noise) if your state alllows it or you plain just dont care..... X-PIPE ALL THE WAY!!!!
