Default 2001 mustang v6. please help

I just purchased a 2001 mustang v6 5spd. It has a very annoying tick that sounds just like an exhaust manifold leak. I have changed out both manifold gaskets and it still is making this sound. It also has some trouble falling off the rpm when revved up. Is it possible this is and intake leak that makes a shht shht shht shht sound????????? Do these cars have any problomatic areas for me to check? Thanks.

Check the vacume lines, my girlfriend's 2000 5spd v6 made the same kind of noise once, I thought it was an exhaust leak, ended up being a vacume line.

I had the same problem it turned out to be a small crack in my drivers side header. it was very hard to tell that though. Does the sound go away after a little bit?
