Hey R3dn3ck, I figured since you are good with the suspension stuff I'd direct this question towards you. I'm getting some pretty bad pulling whenever I go over uneven surfaces. It's like I have to sometimes fight with the car to keep it straight. I was just wondering what could be causing this? I know I need an alignment done, but any other suggestions you could think of? my mods should all be in my sig. Thanks for any help.

 

its probably just your rims and tires.. i notice you have 17x9 and i just upgraded to 17x9 275's and the car pulls like a bitch over uneven surfaces.. this is known to happen when u upgrade to 17x9 from the 17x8 stock rims just my .2 cents..

 

uneven sufraces huh... well I know when you go with the deep dish rear and alot of tire out back (305, 315) your car will move with grooves in pavement... its just the big azz tires out back but an alignment sure wouldnt hurt. I dont know how much they cost to do, i got mine done for free

 

Could also be bump steer from the lowering springs and/or deflection of your RLCA. When I replaced mine, I noticed it imediately on most bumps but on some, it would still move side to side (I believe now the rest is bump steer related).

 

Yeah I'm sure an alignment would help some, but man it's a pain sometimes. If I'm not gripping the steering wheel tightly and go over an uneven road, the car will just jerk quickly to one side. Do you think it would help at all if I went with a smaller tire up front?

 

eh i dont think it would be a noticeable difference with a smaller tire.. i just deal with it ull get use to it..

 

sorry I lagged on getting in here.. I've been wildly busy moving my company.

The tires will be gripping the road a lot more with wider tread and with the soft rubber bushings from the factory, there's a lot of room for the control arms to wiggle and make the car a little eratic.

I'd start by going to poly-urethane bushings in the A-Arms and RLCA's. Get yourself a panhard bar from Maximum Motorsports too, and a bumpsteer kit and MM CC plates. That shoul allow you to dial in the alignment, firm up the lateral control and keep a little tighter hold on the car's direction.

Grooved roads give me the same hassle and I have a full MM max grip box, so there's going to be a little grab no matter what. Mine never jerks the wheel from me but it does track grooves like a sunuvab!tch.

If your main issue is with bumpy roads more than grooved, then it sounds like you have a crappy alignment and a bumpsteer problem which are easily corrected with the parts list above.

EDIT: Without driving your car myself I can't guarantee that the above will work but I'm pretty sure.

 

I know the alignment is a bit out of whack so i gotta get that taken care of. I am planning on getting the MM LCAs and I think the bumpsteer kit woulod be a good addition. I figured I couldn't get rid of the whole problem. thanks for everyone who chimed in.
