I have a 99 gt auto vt cams any good i need help deciding??!!!...

Yes, VT cams are a GREAT choice. What other mods do you have though?

a buddy of mine has thier stage 2 grinds in his and after 3000rpm it pulls like a raped ape. sounds great too.

how much is that particular cam and what is the price for install??????
and also what is a good cam for a 98 gt with bbk headers flows and k&n fipk???!?!? not tryin to steal the thread just was inspiered :banana:

and also my car has 102000 miles on it but it runs like its brand new, is it a good idea to ad a cam to an engine with that amount of miles on it?

VT cams will run you about $595, and I've seen install prices ranging from 300-600 dollars.

you also have to add the price of springs and install if you get the stage 2 cams

The labor costs will go come considerably once you add springs. The main difference between the stage 1 and 2 cams is the idle.

for a 98, use PI cams on top of PI heads sandwiching a PI intake... you'll be good for another 50hp. After that, you can drop a set of VT stage 1's and you'll be smokin' happy.

Install price for cams around here is usually at least 500-800 bucks. Springs are that much again on top of the cam install.

Camming high mile motor isn't bad if the motor still turns in good compression. Keep in mind it's a high mile motor, and expect to have larger repairs starting to come down the pipe as a matter of course, not necessarily related to your cam swap. Abusing a high mile motor is kinda silly.. so keep it reigned in.

vt has good cams. i want to install mine sometime. i was gonna wait for heads. but i think im just gonna get a stall and springs
