Which option is the fastest

Which option is the fastest
ok as much of you know i have bad syncroes in my tranny. For the 1/4 mile which do you think would be the fastest???
1. Let it go to redline in first and wait about 1 second then put in into 2nd (tranny will not grind that way)
2. Shift hard into second at about 4 grand???? then it wont grind either but anything above 4 grand it does....
