Default my new tranny rocks

thats right. the 3200 stall is ok wish it was a bit higher. i have to be carefull when i floor it at 40 mph. the rpms will jump to 5k lock up and then my tires turn to a cloud of smoke. at part throttle you really dont feel it shift hard its smooth like a lincoln or something. once i get on it and it hooks up it shifts real fuggin hard especially the 2-3 shift. i hope i dont break the rear anytime before i leave for korea.

you auto guys need a torque converter. my car drives like its stock then once i get into the throttle nothing really happens till 3k rpms then it feels like you got rear ended and you look in the rear view mirror only to see smoke.

Thats why when you go to a looser convertor they recomend making your shifts firmer becuase when the convertor is unlocked its doesnt shift very firm (feel wise). But yeah a convertor was one of the best things i ever did to my truck. THis was before PI and all those guys did convertors i had a B&M and it was really awsome. It really makes driving an auto a ton funner. plus you still get to cruise in stop and go tranny easy because your still an auto.

I just hope you have a very large tranny cooler. A looser highstall convertor will heat your tranny fluide up ALOT more. Have fun with that sucker

what do you mean "looser" it locks up like the stocker at normal driving. i asked my tuner if i had to get any adjustments to his tune he said i dont need one. i have a 24K GVW B&M cooler with a TCI deep pan. im going to get a guage sometime this week.

i exaggerated a bit when i said like a lincoln. i still feel a slight kick its just not as rough as the stock tranny. my shift pressures are already turned up from the tune. i have a new tune that has end user adjustments i just need to get to a dyno and have it checked, or get a wideband. its good that i can adjust because i can change all of my shift points and shift pressure.

I'll be upgrading my convertor as soon as I get home and rip the motor apart. I gotta find a convertor before I rip into the motor and put it back in.
Also got a 2.9 rr pulley to boot. So say good by to 13 psi with the 3.4 pulley

Because its a higher stall it lets the motor rev higher untill it locks because its looser, which i am sure you have noticed. While it does this its heating up the tranny fluide laot more then the stocker did. Dont worry you have a large tranny cooler and will be fine. thats the same one i had on my truck it never went over 180* even in the dead heat of summer in central florida.

it gets hot in central cali where my mom lives now. shes gonna drive it as a weekend car since she wants to feel young and what not. i wanna make it last but if it takes a crap on me when she has it its going to go to MPH for a whole new set up. hopefully my stocks come through for me by then.

I need to check to see how much an upgrade would cost with my converter. I want at least 3800.
