Arrow Humidity, A/F mix, tweaks etc..?

So, I'm kind of just curious on this..

Humidity has been through the roof this summer so far in TN, I feel like the car is really laying down on the top end and I'm wondering if there is anything else that I can really do to improve on it...

The car is consistantly in the 8.7's in the 1/8th, I'm really just looking for like an extra .1, but don't really don't want to do anymore "mods" at the moment.

Is there anything I can do?

Thanks guys!

Maybe try removing the rear seats when you race for a little weight reduction.

'Eh, really only good for a few pounds, not really practical and probably won't see much of a gain. The real weight loss in the rear seat removal is taking the seat belts out and I'm not going to do that, plus it looks stupid.

Thanks for the input though!

Well with the summer comes hotter air and that means 1/4 times slow down. All you can do is try to remove some weight. If you don't take the spare tire and jack out and go with a little less then 1/2 a tank of fuel or less, then you should to make the car lighter.

Other then that you can try icing down the intake on the car, but I never saw any increase in trap speed or lowering of times doing it. Maybe you will have better luck.

And this belongs in the drag racing section, moving.........

Well, I re-loaded the custom tune last night & drove it today. Feels quite a bit different to me, may be all in my head, but I'm thinking either some of the parameters got f'ed up somehow or maybe Dave just forgot to load it back in, but it definitely feels like it has more top end now, especially around 4-5k.

I guess we'll see next week, I'm gonna be kicking myself if I've been running around on the stock tune for the last couple of months.. lmfao

PS: Dustin, I took the spare out of the trunk about a month ago.. It's kind of pointless with the Cobra brakes, all I could really use it on would be the rears. I have unlimited roadside assistance, so if I get a flat I'm just gonna call the tow truck. lol! I've got my small tool kit, sockets and what-not back there just in case, but that's only about 10 lbs compared to the weight of the tire, jack & wrench.

PPS: I guess I may as well ask. You guys know my mods pretty well, what should I be thinking about doing for a decent pickup on my next "mod?" I want to stay N/A for now, but I'm looking to supercharge it at some point, so any mods that I do I want to do with the mindset that there will be a power adder there at some point. P&P heads? Trick flow heads? Injectors? MAF? what do you think?

Long tube headers and then work on losing weight on the car with a tubular K-member and control arms.

To my knowledge, the tune was active when I sold you the car. If you took the cats off, it does pull better up top. Thats how it was when I had it.

Cats have been off for a month or more now and I didn't feel much of a difference at all until I loaded the tune into it the other night....

strange...maybe the ecu forgot part of the tune...cause with zero tune on that car with the mods on there...it runs like poo ***. so I know the tune was there.

You know one of the basic mods for a better 1/4 time is to take off the front sway bar for better weight transfer. If your not doing that when you take it to the track try it out.

Evan, are you using any sort of sub-frame connectors?

Full length SFC's, LCA's, Bilstein Shocks/ Struts, H&R Race springs, Welded axle tubes/ torque boxes, etc...

I'm really looking for more top end, I've got a great launch and typically don't lose traction, but I'm losing ground on the top end of the track and just need to find about 1/10th.

I'm really starting to think that the ECU fudged up the tune somehow, because the car just didn't quite seem "right" and now that I re-loaded the tune it feels better. I guess I'll find out Friday.

The reason why I say I'm looking for about 1/10th is the fact that I have finally found a good bracket/track for the car to run in. It is the "domestic" class, N/A, minimal mods, etc. and I'm really competitive in the class. There is really only one car in the class that out runs me and it is a chevelle, I almost always tear him a new you know what out of the hole, but he somehow powers by within just a few feet of the line, he beat me by .113 two weeks ago and by about .05 last week... I know where some of that time is, because I'm still shifting too late, around 5800-6k and I need to be shifting sooner, but I don't know if that is enough to really make the difference.
