Default v6 vs. Charger R/T

So last night, I'm heading back from the store and i'm cruising next to this new charger.. orange with painted stripes..nice rims and an exhaust..i'm like whatever.

Get up to a light, and its this older guy..and hes look at my car..so i'm like "what the hell, quick little light to light"

Turn the bottle on.. we both go on the green..just cruising.. at about 25 he punches it, and I punch it with him, WOT switch kicks in and I hang even with him. Get up to the next like, compliment eachother, tell him my car is a 6 and hes shocked, says he might have to do something like that with a newer mustang, lol.

Made my turn, went home.

Lol. I've beat an R/T in my Mustang. All N/A....it was pretty close though, but I though he would've smoked me.

The newer mustangs (05+s) I have seen run 13s stock. So doesn't suprise me you beat one. Last season at the track I barely broke 14s..don't really know whats changed..

I'm just running a 75 shot (wet) atm.. still sitting around building up cash for the gears/posi to go in, then it'll be off to the dyno to get tuned for the 100 shot. After that I'm done with it.. if I want more speed I'll buy a 05+ GT or Bullit and shoot nitrous through that.

Newer mustangs have loads of potential off just a 100 shot. Me and my buddy kit and he runs 11.4s ..gears, nitrous, tune.

I've never met anyone with Nitrous and I still don't know about it, but I do want to learn. I'm not going to get it, but yeah. I can't wait for the track to open here. I'm going to race both my vechiles. My Mustang vs My Durango and I'm thinking about dynoing both as well. I know my SUV has a lot more HorsePower then my car, but then again it's a lot heavier then my car.

2003-2004 have 390 torgue and Horse Power.

Nitrous is the best for cheap HP, I love mine. I bet if you had gone from a lower speed you would of beaten him.

I just don't get the mindset of people who use spray...I'm n/a for life, you'd sooner catch me dead than with spray. I don't know why, I think those fast and the furious movies ruined it for me.

+1...and I've always had the mindset that nitrous will blow a stock block in no time. Even though I know it's not true, I'd still rather have a blower or turbo..

I have run up on a lot of S197's with nitrous in the Cobra and got pulled on pretty nice (never lost though). Good luck with the posi and everything.

That's because you have let a movie determine what you know about nitrous.

Why would you want to be n/a when you can go so much faster with any kind of power adder, that's what is really retarded.

My car is about to hit 4 years on a 125/150 shot; 3 of which were untuned. I have handed a good number of cars there asses on the bottle and counting.

People can hate on it all they want, its a power adder just like any forced induction. Only its much cheaper to get setup and going, and makes torque like no other.

I agree with Spike. I'll never spray mine, because I want to supercharge it and leave it at that, but I do understand how easy nitrous is to install and run, and what a HUGE difference it makes. Plus it's just hella fun to see a v6 keep up with an R/T. But 4 years Spike? My god man, you must really take care of your car!

Its just that nitrous is not as bad as people make it out to be. I have had who knows how many bottles threw my motor and it still gets great mpg and runs good. Nitrous is no worse on a motor then any other power adder. If anything its better because you are not using it all the time 24/7.

I've had a nitrous kit sitting in my room for the past 4 years and never hooked it up. It's still for sale BTW. I'd hook it up if it was useful for autocross, and if my car wasn't fast enough for me as it sits as a daily driver.

I would have totally jumped on it if it was a wet kit.

Spray isn't for everybody, I just prefer to stay N/A. Simple as that.

spray done right is 100 percent safe if the driver takes the time to learn how to use it.

Stephen, try as you might you'd sooner catch me on the back of a flying pig than with spray. Nothing against those of you who use it, it's just not for me.

Why? Nitrous isn't for everyone. I have never considered spraying my car and won't ever do it. If I want more power, I'll get a supercharger and/or forged internals. Yes, it is much more expensive, but that is the route I'd rather take.

Same here. We don't have to have an explanation, it's just the way we are.

The whole reason it's odd is because there's no explanation.

What if I just said "I am never going to change my rims. You all might like it, but I absolutely 100% refuse to change my rims. It's never going to happen. All these people with 22s on their cadillacs killed it for me. You'll sooner catch me dead than with some aftermarket rims."

Then that is your opinions on aftermarket rims, end of story. I understand your curiosity, but not everything needs an explanation. Some things are the way they are just because. There doesn't always have to be a reason.

The more you use nitrous the more it costs and a 75 bucks a tank it can get expensive quick if you want power often. It's a hassle to have to go and get a bottle refilled when you run out. The closest place that deals with it by me is a 30 min drive from me. that an hour in the car wasting gas for a combined 15 minutes of 75 dollar fun juice in a tank. Yes you can get more tanks but then the price builds even more. If I pay for more power I want it at my right foots beck and call all the time.

I have no fear of nitrous I am just impatient

I don't have a "fear of nitrous" if that's what you're implying, I just refuse to use it on my vehicles. Simple as that.

$75 for a nitrous fill, you need to find a new place. I paid $28 a week ago, and a new place now does it for $1.50 a lb that's right $15 plus tax to fill a bottle.

The reason we don't get why you wont use it is because people say they would add a supercharger, but nitrous is a no no yet it does the same thing for less money.
