89 gt
sooo my buddy just got a 89 gt vert...the previous owner told him he ran a 13.9 in it...so my friend is telling me how much faster his car is then mine and stuff so i was just wanting to see what you guys think
btw- he is a sissy and would never ever race his car and hardly ever gets on it in the street that is why i ask instead of just racing him.
my car- 96 gt 5 speed, o/r x..flowmaster cat back..airsilencer removed.. pi intake manifold swap. nitto 555's
his car- 89 gt 5 speed, mild cam (dont even notice any kind of lope), shorty headers,stock H, 3 chamber flows (ive seen the exhaust and its exactl what i say BUT SOUNDS STOCK), 3.30 gear (whoo hoo),

also just another quick question i noticed his fan is driven by the engine like it always runs doesnt that hog up some hp?

he is lighter with at least the same HP ... i say that with the same driver, his car would be faster ... even if the gears are only 3.30, its more then ur stock 3.08

It came with 3.08 or 3.27, you would have to read the code on your door jam to find out.
Being a covert, makes him heavier, plus GT's have ground effex, that added to the weight, if it was a LX coupe, i would say lighter than you. With his mods and your mods, i would say he would probably beat you. his rear bumper to your front bumper when running each other.
The 5.0's are known for TQ, not 4.6's. But if his car sounds and runs like a$$, then you might have an advantage on him, but if it's running normal he'll get you.
My 95 5.0,stock 215HP, had 3.08 gears, CAI, MSD 6AL, H pipe, Flows. My friend had a 1998 GT, stock 225HP, silencer removed, flows, maybe 3.27 gears, and he couldn't hang with me. I would beat him by about 2 car lengths all the time.
