1/4 Mile Times...
Today I ran the stang, it was hot as hell, it was around 89 degrees air temp, and track temp was 120!!! It was dry as hell, with a 20mph Headwind. This is my best time for the day:
60ft: 2.05
330ft: 5.83
1/8: 8.9 @ 78 mph
1/4: 13.97 @ 98 mph
I ran the car 21 times down the track. I hit 14.0 @ 97mph 18 times straight. I think with cooler temps I would be able to hit a 13.7 @ 99 mph. My car still runs out of steam at the 1,000 ft mark. I raced a 03 Mach 1 and he only beat me by .5 secs!!! I have a video I have of all my races today, and I will post it as soon as I can find my Charger for my camara. It will be on streetfire videos, and i'll post the link.

Sometime go out there and let it cool off for a while before running, and usually it will be a little faster.

Your times are pretty dead on it most likely has a 13.7 ish in it your trap speed should be 100-101. Your 60 ft is pretty much as good as its gonna get with the auto.
I dont recommend hot lapping........
1.) Your times will suffer.
2.) Just out right not good...
Have you done any mods to your tranny such as a tranny cooler or even a J mod? That will help with the heat with those gears and firmer shift points on your tune your putting a lot of stress and heat on it..

As for my 60ft do you think it would get better with DR's??? I am using the ZR45's right now, and they hook up pretty good I think!! To be running a 2.0 60ft I think that is pretty good. My car dies at the 1000 ft mark, even with 4:10s. I get a really loud whirring noise from the rear end right now, is that normal with 4:10s in it??
That whirring noise from the rear is gear whine....live with it mines pretty bad from a bad install....oh well it happens I listen to the radio alot so I cope with it.
Drag radials arent going to help you that much more....I have my Nitto DR's and cant beat a 2.0 60 ft....I just upgraded my suspension so hopefully my wieght transfer might help me beat that a 1.9 is my goal.
Is your car going into 4th gear? Do you hit the O/D button before you drag race? That might be the reason it dies at the 1000...by the way if your car is shifting into 4th thats a very bad thing for your tranny I learned that the other day

I lock out OD every race. But at 1000ft it just seems to die!!!!! I feel like my car is not making any HP/TQ at those speeds!!! I'm at 5800rpm when I cross the line. Even with 4:10s my car feels like its flat on its face at the 1,000ft mark. Do you have any suggestions for me???

Its not that hard of install unless you have the right tools and some paitience or a devil header like mine was........It will free up a decent amount of power...it will have the SOTP effect.
Edit: Just read your other post by all means if you can get longtubes but they are a pain to install and costly if you pay someone to do it.......but thats just my opinion.

How many tenths??? I live my life a 1/4 Mile at a time, I need to know Tenths!!!!! LMFAO, I'm just kidding!!!!! Yes just like the 4:10s were more or less a SOTP feeling also. I only gained .2 tenths on my 1/4 Mile!!! I've been told people were gaining .5 tenths on their 1/4 Mile with 4:10s. I did get better, but not .5 that is for sure. Maybe when the weather gets cooler!!!

i'm gonna say maybe .2 tenths but ppl's cars respond to mods differently...like you said you didnt get the .5 like everyone else ......you most likely might get .3-.4 the .5 is good drivers and manuals. Cooler weather helps but not like you think I can run one good run on a hot DRY day...humidity is a factor I notice at the track I look for dryness.

Well a .3-.4 would put me at 13.6, 13.7 which is what i'm looking for!!!!! So i'm all for it. I'm gonna go and order my H-Pipe, and bring it over for you to install for me, (Free of charge of course) LOL!!!!!!

Is that .3, or .4 with just the H-Pipe or with LT, and H-Pipe??? If I shoot her with a 100 shot of Nitrous do you think i'll hit a 12.2 or lower??? That is with DR's of course!! Do you think I should go with the 10.5 wheel or leave it at 9 and go with the 275/40/17????

I doubt you'll get that low i'm gona say more like between 12.5-12.7 with those mods.
10.5 is extra weight and will slow you down I would not go any larger than a 9 inch.......there is a reason why I still have my stockers and painted them.

My car used to fall flat on it's face at the 1,000' mark also. My SCT tune really helped in that area, it pulls all the way to the traps now.
Power wise bolt on's are only good for a few ponies by themselves.
A decent cold air kit and filter 5 hp, pullies 5 hp, plenum and TB 7-10 hp, X pipe with cats 10 hp. Do them all and you will pick up 20 -30 hp. Long tube headers will gain some serious torque but are a real fun install.
The trick to going fast in these automatic cars is the tune and a torque convertor. People don't realize how much more the tune affects an automatic than a manual car. Once you start changing gears and torque convertors your stock tune gets lost and doesn't know when to shift. By road tuning it and setting your shift points and convertor lock up's you will pull much better at the top end and trap much higher. As to hot lapping, it won't hurt your car, in fact these mod motors run better hot then cold. I will get faster with each pass hot lapping.

I have the SCT Tune, but she still falls flat on her face at 1000ft!!! I put the gears in so it would end that, but to no prevail. I don't know what I have to do!!! My tune was for 3:27 gears, but I dont think that would effect my tune due to a gear change. I don't manual shift anymore, just put her in drive and hit the gas, but I don't feel any power after 1,000ft. I am getting the Cat-Less H-pipe sometime next week (Payday) I hope that opens her up some!! Do you think I should Advance my timing? Maybe that would give me some more HP...... I really don't know what else to do......Would a stall converter help me that much???? Give me some tips...I see you are running a 12.8 so I know you can drive.

Well I would say I can drive straight. There's not a whole lot to racing a slush box car other than going straight and remembering to brake before the track runs out. As to your car, mine is almost a full second slower on the stock tune. Some of that is timing some is the shift and lock up schedule. The tune is a huge factor, I trap 5 mph lower and run 6-7 tenths slower with mine on the factory tune. The convertor itself really didn't make any difference on mine other than my sixty foot went from 2.0 to 1.78 - 1.80. My 4.30's really woke the car up, it is between 4,000 - 6,000 on my entire run so I am making power the whole race. The convertor lock is key also, mine locks up right after the shift and it pulls much better. The combination of the convertor, tune and gears made it a completely different car. I can trap 106 all day long, before it was 100 -102. The only way to tune an auto is road tune trial and error. You need to data log and keep changing until you get it right.

After reading all this I would suggest going back to the starting line: what is your 60' foot time, do you hook, or do you have tire spin? If so how much? Do you load up the converter, or just punch it? Believe it or not, but 0.01 (one hundredth) in a 60 foot time can be roughly 0.10 (one tenth) at the lights, check your timeslips if you doubt it. BTW, I can't see any harm in a 275/40 on a 9" wheel, my BFG G-Freaks help my launch tremedously.
