my friends boss just got a mercury marauder and i jumped in while he was driving and i couldnt believe how fast that that tank moves. There is a Z28 around here that is embarrassed right now, especially since he initiated the race. I asked him if I could drive and he just gave me this look like "should i smack you now or later" but i would be the same way if i had that car. I looked at the motor and it was a cobra motor but wasnt supercharged. still freakin fast tho

 

yea...I wouldnt mind having a marauder at all! its a superfast grand daddy car...

I saw one at the track the other day...it spanked some riced out civic. obviously....

 

the marauder basically has the same engine as a 2003-2004 Mach 1

They've had the 4.6 since 92?..I think...previous had 239hp engine, one before that was 220hp engine..was same engine with dual exhaust as the crown vic LX model

 

i would think that they would put somthing more powerful in them

Well I hate to say you ran into a Z28 driver who sucks. A LT1 or LS1 Z28 woudl rape a marauder 10 ways to sunday.

 

I know this is a late reply but I don't jump on-line much during duty weeks...so forgive me for being late! Just wanted to agree with the Merc being pretty fast, My dept has five, we use for driving school, however, just today we got our new patrol cars...guess...07 Chevy impala...no big deal right? Have that now right? Well I still have my crown Vic. The spec sheet says it's a 5.3l 320hp v8! In an Impala!!! The only info I could find on GM's web was for the SS that has the same engine with 300hp...Ford needs to step up and start putting some horses in the mustang. Suv's will be eating us up! Look how long it took to get 300 in a base. Okay, throw your stones at me now..

 

i know for a fact some cruisers are supercharged, but in MD they got a couple GT's and Vettes to get speeders on rt 301...

 

I remember those when I was at Andrews AFB, while in the Army, I saw a few LS6 chevy pursuit vech, old box caprice with 454bb, damn fast cars. FHP has a few Z28s and Vettes, I'm sure you've seen in Talle. Never seen a sc Police service vech tho...would like to.
