Mickey Thompson's

I ordered a set today, 275/15/50's:punk:
I hate my Nitto's
That is all, I just wanted to share with the group.

Can I borrow em? Last time I went to the track I couldnt hook for the life of me. First was spin, second was spin, and 3rd got me slightly wiggly.

2.2 60' was the best I could grab but it was also opening day.

heh, i remember reading a post from you about how great nittos are... i just bought a set of bfg's but im waiting another week or two to put them on..

Go back and re-read it, I have always hated my Nitto's. The best I have ever done is about 50 percent of the runs hooking on any given outing. I have posted that Nitto's are the best DR for street use but that's not what I got them for. When I bought mine the MT's had just come out and were not legal at NMRA events and everyone was sold out of the BFG's so I had to get the Nitto's.

yeha nittos are good for adaily driving (what i use mine for) but BFG's and MT's hook a ton better. I love my nitto's though.

When I had my Nitto 275/40/17s it helped traction more on the street also. I never got a better 60ft out of them than I did the stock tires....Maybe a pro driver could get better 60fts out of them than me but for the average driver I think its better to just get some nice sticky street radials like BFG KD2s.

i thought you have never drag raced your car?

I ran a best 2.1 60' with my Nitto 555 street tires out back.....
then I bought 17x10.5 deep dish rims with 315/35/ Nitto Drag radials..and I have a best 1.8 60' so far....and the season aint over yet.:punk:

So I must say.. i love teh Nitto's...

I had a best of 1.78 on my Nitto's. The problem I have with them is they were way too inconsistant. I'd hook on a pass then with the exact same tire pressure and burnout blow them off on the next couple of passes. I hope these MT's solve that problem, they should hook fine with my mild set up.

Blue02GT 04-10-2006 08:37 PM

Got them mounted on the Weld's today and if I can sneak out of work early tomorrow I'm gonna fly home and slap them on and hit Tuesday nite test and tune and try those suckers out. I will report back with the results. They sure feel alot softer than the Nitto's.
