Default First time using drag radials

Alright my 60 ft time didnt go down after switching to the Nitto DR.......I dropped the psi to 18..and still they were heated properly I think damn things are sticky....best 60 was a 2.0 flat and i've done that once before on my street tires......but still happy running a 12.9 but that 60ft is killing me

what RPM are you launching at? took me forever to get decent 60fts with those tires. I've been able to pull 1.90 on them before and can consistantly get mid 1.9's. I just normally launch at about 3-3.5k and just stay on it all the way through first, it'll almost red line but it'll catch traction and then you'll go lol, you shouldn't have the relining problem though. If I launched any harder than 3.5k it would spin even worse.

Your problem is that your bottle is almost empty.
and a stock auto with stock stall is gay becuase he cant stall it up high to really use those nittos to there best.

a 3200-3400 is very very daily driver safe and its easy i have done a few its a simple matter of taken out the stock driveshaft and then support the stock tranny and unbolt it take off sensors pull tranny back. slip off old convertor put a quart of fluide in the new one slide it onto the input shaft of teh tranny. reinstall it all hook up sensors, driveshaft etc... thats a really basic set-by-step but thats kind ahwo it goes. its nto to hard if you got a freind to help out.

my tires still spin at 2k rpms if i throttle it up slowly. supposedly i have a 3200 stall. how are those things supposed to work? it flashes at 3200 but i cant brake stand at 3200 is that normal?

oh yeah when i went to the track a long time ago with the 275's and i couldnt break 2.0 with em. i even had slight tire spin before the light turned green.

Nitto DR's suck! They won't drop your 60 ft at all over a decent set of summer tires. They may just be a bit more consistent.

I'm gonna call Bs on that one. I have them when my car had only h-pipe and intake i went from a 14.3 in the heat of summer to a 13.9 with nothing but Nitto drags. And my 60' only went froma 2.0x's to 1.8x's-1.9x's most of it was from the tires not sping as long once i was out of the hole and not spinning on the 1-2 and 2-3 powershift. Are they the best no not really. But they last the longest and have the best tread pattern for rain so they are great for a daily driver tire.

get a set of Mickey Thompson DR's they are the s**t. I had BFG's and thought they were good until I tried my M.T.'s last weekend. First pass was a 1.74 next week I will get some 1.6"S. Just because you have dr's you still can not dump the clutch you need to ride it and then dump it. With 111mph you should be able to go 12.40's or mybe better.

Hes an auto with a stock stall hence his not to impressive 60' times. And me personaly the only Dr i woiuld drive on every day in the rain etc.. would be nittos the other two while they hook alot better just arent good in the rain enough for me to use them.

NItto's are much harder to get to work consistantly than MT's or BFG's.
As far as your 2.0, you did not mention if you had much tire spin.
My NItto's are really worn out but they hook much better with the tread all gone, lol. I too run an automatic but mine runs 12.80's w/o nitrous
I have cut a best of 1.72 on the Nitto's so I know they will work, just not every time. My car is my daily driver and I have a 3,500 stall convertor, it's fine on the street. It does not drive any differently until you really get on itfrom a stop.
Your sixty foot depends on alot of factors other than just traction.
Power, gearing, stall speed all play a big role in your 60'.

I am gonna take a guess that because he isnt spraying out of the hole he isnt spinning till the nitrous hits at 3,200 which i think is what he set his window switch to. He needs a stall convertor to really get those times down. That and a larger set of nittos next time around. the 245 are soo small i think.

lol..true I hit the gas wait till I see the 3000 and let her rip..i'm spinning a bit but a hell of a lot less than those tires I had but i've done some of the same 60fts with my nittos than I have with those street tires I had so I dont know whats up I think I need to drop the psi lower than 18

I had no luck below 18 psi on my Nitto's. To get them to hook I lock it in second and stomp it until I see white smoke then I hold it there for a slow five count. They need to be really hot to hook. I also roll out towards the beams with them still spinning and let off when they start to grab to get rid of any left over water.

yeah but it isnt spinning on the shifts or as long with the nittos so its really helping your times. I would try spraying it a tad lower and see if you 60' gets better. Try it at 2,800rpms (it will be ok trust me) and i bet your 60' will be better.
