'05 GT Question
I have an '05 GT (convertible, 5 spd manual), bone stock at present. I'm interested in minimal modifications that will improve acceleration and have no affect on my warranty. I am considering the cold air intake and reprogramming via the Xcalibrator, but I still want to run 87 octane gas. Is this an unrealistic goal? I am only interested in putting out the money if there is a noticeable improvement in off-the-line performance.
Also, once I have the Xcalibrator, can I then buy new programs. If yes, how are they made available to me? A floppy that is mailed? Downloaded with a security key? My new laptop does not have a floppy drive.

The new programs are normally e-mailed from our programmer as far as I know. You wouldnt be buying "programs" per say, you would actually be buying new tunes for things that you might be adding to the car (exhaust, pulleys, etc etc)
As far as the CAI goes, you should get a gain of around 5-8HP from the Steeda CAI and with the reprogramming you should gain somewhere between 10-15 HP. Tuning for 87 Octane isnt unreasonable, the tune will actually optimise the car for that octane of gas. It wont void the warranty SO LONG AS you remember to put the stock tuning back on the car when you take it in to be serviced. Otherwise youre good to go.

Also, keep in mind that in order to really see any hp improvement from the tunes, you will need to run high octane fuel. High-octane is needed for the timing advance.
