Default 05 Bullit Wheels

One of the threads below mentioned 18" bullits were on the way for the 05 stang. Does this mean that the current 18" wheels won't clear the brakes on the 05 or is the only reason the offset.

Hehe I answer this question about 3 times a day on the phone.

The current 18" Bullit wheels that are out have an offset of ~22mm and ~24mm, for 18x9 and 18x10 respectively. Those will fit up to an 04 because the body style remained unchanged for all those years, as did the offset. Once the 05 came out, the offset shifted from 22mm and 24mm to ~44mm, which makes a big difference. The current 18x9/10 that we carry will stick WAY out on the 05, and they will rub. The only wheels that will fit and that have the correct offset are our Anthracite and Chrome 05 Bullet wheels. For all the other styles and sizes your going to just have to wait.

But dont worry, they're coming!!

I had played with the math and figure 18x9s would be about even with the furthest out point of the front fender and 18x10s would stick out about 3/4 of an inch past the furthest out point on the rear fender. Both would throw way to much upon the paint tobe feasible. I was just wondering if sombody was crazy if they would clear the brakes. I hope they get the 18s for the 05 out soon so I can switch them out before I drive it. Anyway thanks.

The current 18" Bullitts will bolt on to the '05 and clear the brakes, but they stick out so much that it looks REALLY bad on the car. It looks about as bad at this... :bonedemon
