Default 13" Cobra Brake Conversion

Just wanted to make sure I know what I'm getting. Saw it's back in stock and before I place my order I wanted to clarify everything before I buy.

2 Rotors Are they Brembo?
2 Calipers Are they PBR?
2 Hoses Are they stainless Steel?
Brackets I assume these are to mount them on my 02 gt correct?
Brake Pads What kind?

http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr...roducts_id=592
Also what is the diffrence between these 2 kits?

Thanks,
Nik

Assuming you mean either the Bullitt or 10th Anniversary Kits....

- Rotors are Brembo
- All Mustang Calipers are PBR, including GT/V6 ones
- Pads are OEM Ford Equipment
- Hoses are not S/S if they are the Ford Racing ones pictured on MT's pages
- Yes you are correct in the bracket assumption

The difference is the kit you linked to uses the unpainted, but stamped Cobra calipers. The ones MT sells use either the Bullitt painted ones with running pony or 10th Anniversary painted ones with the Cobra stamping. Also looks like the other kit you linked has S/S lines with it.

The Bullitt calipers are actually slightly smaller pistons by about 2mm and is the same hardware off of 94-98 Cobras, while Mach 1 and 99+ Cobra calipers are slightly larger, but that is a detail most people will overlook.

Hope that helps, mang

Hey thanks for the great input. I was actually talking about the 94-98 Cobra brakes. I'm not a big fan of the Red Caliper. How much diffrence does that 2mm make?

Edit: Also here's what i was cutting and pasting from http://mustangtuning.com/ford-racing...onversion.html

Ahh ok lol.

Well its basically the same then as I posted above.

- Non S/S lines
- OEM Ford pads
- Adapter brackets for our V6/GTs

But on that note, I was off by a few mm.

13.0 x 1.1 = Cobra 94-04 (dual piston PBR 42mm 99-04, 38mm 94-98)

If you can afford it, I'd go for the larger PBRs since every bit can help. And the design is probably a bit improved.

Maybe i'll just get the Calipers Powdercoated. You seem to be the expert so should I go with this kit? http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr...roducts_id=591

I'm no expert lol, but I have researched this before.

I say go with it, looks like a good deal.

I plan on buying the Mach 1 kit, which has no logos since I don't want a flashy look to mine. Plus I'm cheap lol.

I've heard the Cobra Calipher is slightly larger than the Mach 1.

The whole reason I was wanting hte 94-98 Cobra brakes was to A. Save money and B. I also don't like the flashy red paint and just preferred the black look.

All kits come with 13" Brembo Rotors, rubber lines, and PBR pads

The only difference is the piston size and color of the calipers.

The Black Cobra and Mach 1 calipers have the same piston size, the 10th Anniversary Cobra Calipers have the slightly larger piston size, and a different banjo bolt (coarse threaded).
