1968 5.0 to 1991 EFI Conversion
Hi all -
I have a '91 GT convertible that has a beat (burns a quart o f oil every 100 miles) '80-something 5.0 in it now. I have the opportunity to pickup a '68 5.0 block.
My plan is to bore it .030 over, put in a mild cam, swap on GT40P heads, and retain the existing fuel injection and computer.
Since I'm relatively new to Fords, I have a few questions:
(1). Is this even possible?
(2). Will the EFI intake, etc. bolt on to a '68 block?
(3). Is there anything internal to the engine for the EFI that the '68 wouldn't have?
(4). Would the heads swap over cleanly?
Any help and / or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
