Default 1968 302

Whats up guys .This is the deal I seen a 98 mustang gt with a 1968 302 engine ,the engine seems alrite its not supercharged .Bodys in real bad shape it has cobra body kit but it need a paint job and theres a bad dent on the driver door it has like 80000 miles.Basicaly I went there to look at it and i aready own a mustang but am selling it right now because its way to old and i need to do alot of work to I dont even think its worth it.my car is a v6 mustang 2001 with 150k i need to change the exhaust from the headers all the way to the mufler everything even the bracelets gota be change,i need a new hand brake new bumpers new side mirror new windshield car is in bad shape am selling it for like 2000.
So I told the dude at the store all of that and he sayed that he would trade his mustang for mine as it is i dont have to give him anymore money he took me for a litle drive around the block he seemed like he was scared of the car he didnt really open it up but I dont know i wasnt really inpresed by it but he didnt even take it over 4000 rpm and it felt like it wus only goin a litle bit faster than my v6.
So I dont know what do you guys think the car seems oild ill tell you that right now its not like a car show restored engine its got rust nothing looks broken but it looks old I wusnt really impresed by the litle test drive but than again he didnt even really show me what it can do .Im either going to trade my v6 for that or trow some money in and buy a s4 twinturbo audi

I don't really understand the point of this thread.

Explain exactly how you want us to reply to you. All you did was make a statement with no direct question for us to answer.

Well a 2000 V6 that's in need of a lot of work won't be worth much just keep in mind how much work the 68 needs. Also remember now days body work can cost you an arm, leg and a nut

Unless you're hard up, I'd pass on both unless they're dirt cheap. '98 should of had a 4.6 and something tells me that thing has probably got a carb on it. Its not had to find a decent SN95 these days, for relatively cheap.

If you buy that S4 make sure they did the timing belt (Audi used to say 100k but they changed it to 80k for many cars,) and of course check for any issues with the turbos. If they blow on you the engine has to be pulled which is not fun or cheap. If it's an auto car check to make sure that the trans has been maintained. Other things to check for are crapped out front control arms and whether or not the auxiliary coolant pump is leaking (electric pump that is located under the intake manifold.) B5 S4's are fun cars, but you need to keep up on the maintenance or they'll turn around and bite you in the ***. And as with any turbo car, don't ride it hard and put it away wet.. You need to let the turbos slow down/cool down before you shut off the car.
