Default The Build

in this thread i will document the progress of my new build. the car is a second owner 1990 GT with 14k original miles. i picked it up with no motor or trans. it does have a tubular k member and a arms, flaming river rack and 5 lug conversion with axles and gears. the Drag Lites and M/Ts are brand spanking new also

the motor is being built as we speak by Bennett Racing and should arrive next week. it is a Dart block 347 making 510 hp and capible of 1,200 with power adder. very similar to the motor in this link except with Ford Z heads and RPM II intake.

http://www.bennettracing.com/Crate%2...31%20347P.html

the trans is a TKO 600 built by D&D performance with a Zoom stage 3 clutch and Ford Racing bell housing and billet flywheel

the fuel system is Aeromotive

today the 75mm throttle body and egr spacer came and tomorrow i should get a PMS, meter, 38 lb injectors and power pipe from Anderson
Ford Racing

Kick butt. What are you gonna throw in there? And it looks like your going for a full-on drag, is that the case? or will it be streetable?

I believe there is a special place in hell for folks who keep 347 strokers off of the strip. lol. Looks like it'll be a fun build. When I'm done paying off my car, I'd like to get a fox and build her up.

yeah but the thing is, it's a 14k mile car. it is what most foxes aren't, tight. i don't want to rag out the torque boxes and twist up the body

Well whoever you picked it up from was definitely thinking like me here, I think. Something about the beefy tires out back and the skinnies up front scream drag track. lol.

I love the car! However I struggle with the thought of how that intake is going to clear, even with the cowl.

That intake should clear a stock hood the cowl will have plenty of room. The 347 shares the 8.2 deck height of the 302.

This car looks great! It's the perfect example of what a fox should look like.

What a gorgeous Fox! Definitely the best interior I have ever seen in a Fox/Notch Mustang. Paint is gorgeous, too. I can't wait to see how it all pulls together.

well i got the flywheel, clutch and scatter shield installed tonight (pics upcoming) and found out the AJE k-member motor mounts will not fit a Dart block so i guess i have to contact AJE and see what's up. that 347 was ready to slide in this fox like a fat lady in a hot bath tub
