I have a 96 V6 cobra clone with a 5.0 swap in it. Not a lot of room under the hood. What can i do to increase power without needing a lot of room?

 

You name it and it can be done to make more power. Heads,intakes,cam,nitrous,turbos,blowers,exhaust and the list goes on and on. The real question is what can you afford to spend to go faster and what is done already to the motor and what is your goal with the car. Is it a street only car, a street/strip car, strip only etc..

 

It has a cam and flows done already. I have about $1000 to spend on it

 

Nitrous oxide would be really fun for under 1k

 

Nitrous would be under a grand, or you could get an upper/lower intake manifold and rear gears. Or headers and gears

 

I have 3.73 gears right now, should i still get new gears then?

 

nah I wouldn't bother getting different gears if you have 3.73's

 

So what is done to this car and what do you want to do?

 

Cam, Flowmasters, Spark plug wires, Has the stock pinched headers, and thats it. Im just looking for some nice horsepower gain without spending alot or going over the top. I was thinking 65mm throttle body, aftermarket headers, and CAI. Anything else i could do? I use to have a ricer honda civic and thats why i am asking all the questions, sorry

 

Headers, and upper and lower intake manifold will give you nice gains

 

What cam is in it? And other then nitrous with is the only power adder you can do for cheap your best bet would be long tubes, and o/r mid pipe then see what money you have left over.

 

just tore it apart today and i do not have an aftermarket cam

 

im sure you could squeeze on some heads and an intake with that amount of money...just as long as you install everything. im sure you will need some bigger injectors though and a MAF to help feed it fuel...

 

Why did you tear the motor apart? Upgrades I hope
