There are a few dyno chart articles in the mustang magazines to give you an idea what the Cobra intake does compared to the popular aftermarket. I can't find the one I used to see but here is one to give you an idea. Look at the power and torque numbers from 3000-5500. You will see that the GT40(same exact as Cobra but tubular upper plenum) makes more power down low and the aftermarket intakes cross over taking the lead between 4500-5500 area where a stock engine stops making power. Those intakes are good for when you setup your car for racing with bigger heads and a cam that moves your powerband peak over 5500 rpm. For a street car that you drive all the time you want your power down low, especially with heavy automatic convertible.
