I have a 91 lx i was converting into a v-8 but my question is other than subframe connectors are there any other ways of keeping the body from twisting

Full length sub-frame connectors make a huge improvement, a roll cage will improve upon that.

A cage will be the other option to stiffen up the car more. But a good set of subframe connectors make a world of difference.

You might want to think about what you want out of the car. There are many different varyations of roll cages. If you plan on racing, certain wall thicknesses and the type of cage are often regulated, just check the rule books.

Also if you're thinking about putting in a cage, you might consider front hoops. So that of you hit her head first, you're engine stands a better chance of surviving. A good quality cage shouldn't cost much more than $750, maybe $800 with hoops.
