Cool 1982body 1992 engine??

Hey everyone new to forum, an injected engines i stuck a 1992 5.0 in my 1982 GT, currently running stock engine with bolt on's.. ECU is A9L, 70mm cold air intake 70mm mass air meter (ford sensor) in the tube. So my problem is when i start it up runs rich, stinks bad black smoke heavy, haven't took down the road yet still in process of putting interior an rest of car back together, but its not running right none the less, so i read here about TPS i tested mine it read 4.7something volts i can't get near 0.96 range as mentioned?? any ideas.. i cleaned IAC valve throttle body new O2 sensors, fuel pump&filter, i'm lost here on this now, any suggestions greatly appreciated..

Ok, so I been working away on my car ditched the mass air for time being, stuck SD back in, car seems to idle an run fine, till i floor it that is, then it breaks up real bad(no power) none at all around 3000rpm, if i just cruise around seem ok runs fine sounds good even, I have (new) fuel pump, new wires, plugs, TPS.. I have not installed fuel relay yet i got it wired direct been searching for wiring an interia switch no luck yet, may have to go after market, but would the relay no being there cause this? Could it been fuel pressure regulator i hadn't checked it yet hoping to find gauge on the weekend, any ideas appreciated..

1982 GT Cobra, 1992 5.0 under its hood, 5spd, 2.5" exhaust, pro chamber H pipe, flowmasters, 70mm cold air intake 65mm, rest is stock for now lol..

my first guess was that the Mass Air Sensor needed to be put back to stock (if you're still running the 19lb injectors). The TPS issue involves a dremel but make sure you have the idle screw on the throttle body set correctly (make sure the TB butterfly is shut all the way and something isn't holding it open.

You really need to get a gauge to keep an eye on the fuel pressure when you're driving around, it could be the lack of the relay causing the issue I suppose

Ya i tried to dremel out the holes some on my TPS, i used my old 1 as test dummy first, i actually have to remove the entire area around the hole an i still can't accomplish .99v.. I then plugged it in an twisted the inside with screwdriver to see an noway its just not gonna happen..I did get my fuel pressure tested thou, heres how it goes, engine off key on 39lbs an held, engine started dropped to 30lbs with vacuum, engine off 39lbs, engine on 39lbs without vacuum?? I am running stock 19lbs injectors, i have a set of 24lbs i would to install but i don't think i should since my car runs on SD at the moment, i ordered a adjustable regulator i think my pressure should be closer to 38-39lbs running?? If that don't solve nothing as far as the revving past 3k then I may have to try changing ignition parts (coil, dist, etc) I been thinking of MSD dist, coil, with 6-AL what ya guys think of that combo? Once i can get this sorted out an run on SD good then i will have to attempt MAS again i have A9L from 92 an 70mm housing with stock sensor installed, should that combo work for me??

Thanks Jay
