From what I have, ABS was an option in '98 for an additional $500. I am not sure what year first offered ABS as an option. Traction Control was an option starting in '99. ABS (anti-lock brakes) cannot be turned off easily but I'm pretty sure that the traction control always came with a button to disable? Randy would be a good resource for that one.
Your traction control kicks in for regular driving when you're in snow or rain and the tires are spinning while you try to accelerate.. For "other driving", it kicks in when we go to launch at the track or a redlight and forgot to turn it off... that's when you know you need a handheld tuner to turn it off for good

hmmmm. ive been puttin a lot of thought into gettin a 88-93 fox. i had a 90 a while back now and i kinda miss it. price wise theyre perfect for my price range and this is the reason for asking the bore and stroker question aswell. i suppose ide just get some DR tires and just use those bad boys as my daily drivers.
thanks for the info!
