Performance

Hi I have a 1990 Mustang gt 5.0. That I would like to modife. I already have the bbk air cooler what should I install? My car is a daily driver to.

figure out how you want to use the car, then come back and tell us about your plans. After we have a better idea of who and what you are we can be more helpful. FWIW... a 90 hatch back is one of the best platforms for anything from a 4cyl POC to a outlaw 10.5 track warrior.

I want the car for street racing and track racing. Here are some of the upgrades im going to buy.

BBK Throttle body 70 mm
BBK Intake Manifold kit
Ford Racing Gears 3.73
BBK Cold Air Intake
Trick Flow 360 HP Twisted Wedge Top-End Engine Kits for Ford 5.0L
Flowtech / Headers

These are the upgrades im going to do are they okay?

r3dn3ck 12-09-2007 11:29 AM

With that setup the BBK intake is wrong. You'll want something in a trick flow Track Heat upper intake as it comes with the Track Heat lower intake already. You'll probably also need new pistons notched for wedge heads and while you're in there might as well do a ring and rod job.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku is a really nice rotating assembly. The motor is externally balanced so it's even cheaper to deal with.

817bigtex 12-09-2007 12:26 PM

For the intake in wich website do they sell them the intake your talking about.

r3dn3ck 12-09-2007 03:09 PM

summit or any of a thousand others. Try www.shopintakes.com... they've been pimping their site on SpikeTV lately. Check it out.

I'll check it out.

a nice hci car will do you well. but to really hook, especially on the streets your gonna need to rip into the suspension and give up a lot on the daily driveabilty front. unless your racing honda's from a roll...

hci with a 150 shot should put you into the 6's in the eigth if you can drive some with a decent suspension. at that point you'll need a cage anyway.

r3dn3ck 12-10-2007 12:03 PM

For suspension don't cheap out and don't underestimate how important it is to strategically upgrade parts to hold the abuse track running with that kind of setup.

A quick call to maximum motorsports will find you the right parts for the power/use/budget.
