resetting the ECU
ok so i have a 1989 GT 5.0 of course. and theres plenty of mods on it.
but when i put the throttle body on i forgot to undo the negative battery cable...so is it true that i can undo the negative battery cable pump the brakes 10 times to reset the ECU or brain? cuz im having some problems with my GT at idle....in park and neutral it sits still. but at a light in drive it surges alot. sometimes once in awhile it way steady like on a cold night. or so.

Sounds like you need to adjust your TPS. Get a voltmeter and check the voltage from the TPS. You should have between .98 and 1.0 volts.
Gray and white wire, gray and red wire should be the ones.
Rotating the TPS clockwise will increase the voltage vise-versa.
This should do it.
As far as resetting the ECU, I would leave that battery unhooked for a few hours, this should clear the memory. But I don't think it is necessary at this point.

I glad its working now. Usually if you unplug the neg of the battery the computer will reset within 10 or 12 mins, can't remember exactly and then your good to go. Also on the 5.0, you want your TPS voltage to be as close to 1 volt as possible with out it being 1v or past it. like a .98 or .99
