Default rocker arm help

Ok i have a 95 gt with 331 stroker and my rocker arms sound like they are loose. Can I just torque them down to specs or do i have to place each cylinder at top dead center first.

thanks

if you are doing this alone you will need a remote starter, not the one where you start the car the one with a trigger and turn the motor slightly. you will need to find base circle by turning the motor over little by little one cylinder at a time. you will know you are at base circle by the rocker arms looking level with each other. next loosen the center locks and tighten the nut. make sure its not to tight. i went hand tight then apprx. 1/8 turn with the wrench and then lock the center lock. the rocker should be able to move very slightly. if it doesnt move back the nut off again then the center lock and retry. make sure it does move a little. then once thats done go onto next cylinders. then crank motor over for a few rotations and feel each rocker and make sure they are not to tight or to loose.

depends on the rocker type and mounting set up. If they are bolt down, then you need to shim them to the correct clearance, if they are adjustable, then follow the above steps.
