Default Is this a good install deal?

A buddy of mine worked at a shop and the guy basically said he can install the front springs on my car while my friend and I install the rear ones and the Side Exhaust at the same time. How hard are springs to install? The shop would charge $320 for everything including an alignment if we don't help. But with out help it drops to $250, and we do the rear springs and exhaust. Is that good? Also this is Clamped exhaust not welded. The guy at the ford performance shop said welding isn't guna let the exhaust flex...

They're H&R sport Springs and a Spintech Side Exhaust.

rear is very easy just unbolt lower control arms lower rear end down and the springs pop out. exhaust i amsume is replacing everything behind the headers? i am not sure how the spintech is setup. but the fronts arent ot hard either just gotta compress the springs etc.. but still your paying 250 for him to just do the front and an alignment that seems kinda step but you do get you use his left which is nice.

Dont waste your money. get some nice jack stands and put your car up on em, and do the springs and exhaust yourself. it took me and a buddy 2 hours to do my springs last year. we did em in his driveway with basic tools. exhaust is easy to do too.

hmmm aight well i got a friend that lives like 20 minutes from me up in Frederick, do you guyz know how long I could drive without an alignment, seeing as the shop for the alignment would be down where i live... or should i try and find a shop up there? I only drove my car about 2 miles when i got the new wheels on...the guide book they used said 3 hrs for the front and 1 for the rear...how much harder are the front ones? Like i said my friend did his and says he can do his, but my dad wants to make sure it's a quality job...

You can usually rent spring compressors from auto parts stores. Here in Denver, Auto Zone has them, but I am not sure what stores are in your area.

All of you guys seem to think that is a steep price...I think it is reasonable. I think what you really mean is "why pay $350 for something you can do yourself?" Keep in mind, you are paying this guy to do this work and be responsible and stand behind his work. Who is standing behind your work?

You also have to consider what the guy generally gets for labor for other work and if his shop is generally crowded.

For comparison, I think I paid around $200 ish to have springs, shocks, struts, and sway bars installed. For $200 I also got to keep my Saturday to myself if you know what I mean. Same guys is doing my control arms for about $115 (uppers and lowers). Again, I get to keep my Saturday.

I see you live in Gaithersburg. My and a buddy have a lift and we could do your exhaust and springs for pretty cheap. Can't help you on the alignment part. PM me if your intrested and I'll get you a price.

Springs are super easy and so is exhaust.
