Swap the motor out for a v8 and put some flows on it. JJ Seriously, glasspacks IMO sound like crap and so do ricers, so I guess what you are asking is why your car sounds like crap. Pull the packs of and get a v6 exhaust setup. When you monkey with the exhaust, you run the risk of it sounding terrible. I have heard a gt with the same mufflers as mine and instead of the cat-less x-pipe he just cut out his factory cats. The cars sound completely different. I don't understand all the scientific hooba-joob but the cat back systems are designed to have diff exhaust flows for a reason or everyone would just run straight pipe.

It may just be the mufflers. I have the almost the exact same setup on my other car, a 95 v6, except I have flowmasters instead of your glasspacks. Pipes were cut after the cats and straight pipes welded to the mufflers. The shop I went to ordered some gt tailpipes so that they did not have to worry about bending pipes to fit and then I have 3in tips. It has definately fooled some people, even some guys in a couple of shops I have taken it to. It sounds just like a gt at idle. Once you wind it up, its true colors shine through and it starts to sound like a v6 again, but never the less, it still sounds good (IMO) to be what it is. obviously a v6 will never sound exactly like a v8.
