Default Windstar intake?

I've heard about the windstar intake kit for the 1999-2004 3.8's and wanted some opinions about it.Should i just buya regular intake or this? It's quite expensive and idk if it will fit under my GT hood. So if anyone has had it just tell me your opinions about it.
Thanks

If you have not seen this page yet, then you are going to love me. We need to make a sticky about this subject I think.

Putting a mini van intake on as a performance mod still cracks me up lol. Good gains for sure.

uhh..no..you aren't going to get that much power from a regular intake, sorry. this is a MANIFOLD. not just an intake. You won't see **** from just an intake.

I'd probably hold onto my money and actually research what you're going to buy, before you throw a thousand dollars or something down the toilet.

Just my 2 cents..

The windstar upgrade is a lot better than it was back when I did it just because there is more information about it and there is a kit that you can buy. I had to find everything and fab all the brackets. I think you can get some nice gains from it. Greensteeda on 3.8 gained 5mph by the end of the straight of memphis motorsports park due to the windstar intake.

This man speaks the truth. the Windstar intake also removes some unwanted weight. A CAI won't do much if anything.

It isn't for everyone, if you aren't serious about going fast ever in this car, then don't get one. I mean, I love v6's, I have one that I've put...more money then what alot of people would have and I still don't have one..but then again..I'm setup to NOT have it..does it make it harder? Sure. But, if you aren't ready to drop thousands of dollars, then buy a little cheap intake, and walk away..but you aren't going to feel that sort of power off the intake..your head might think you are, but I'll tell you right now, number wise, you won't see it.

I'd really advise saving the money and buying a 100 shot of nitrous or putting it toward a blower kit.

The intake manifold isn't going to make much difference (not enough to justify the cost). A CAI is pretty and THAT'S IT unless you have a blower/turbo. A CAI and an intake and a tune and exhaust still isn't going to make you 15hp/20tq, while the 100 shot will make you 100hp/120tq and you can turn it off when you don't need it.

+1 I picked up a complete Zex kit with a remote bottle opener and nitrous pressure and air/fuel ratio gauges for less than intake kit.

I would wait till I had every other bolt on and then maybe I would do this mod. That kit is very nice though.
