today i did not put the a/c at all cause the weather here in Houston was nice and the car did not overheat.
i dont know what is the problem. |
It sucks driving in a humidity place and a/c not working. Can some one tell me what's wrong? Well the a/c does work but the car overheats. I check the fan and it on when the a/c is on so I really don’t know what it is.
|
iirc the fan has 2 speeds, 1 high and 1 low....so are you seaing both fan speeds:confused:
it's my understanding the high speed fan works when the A/C is off to help draw the air thru the A/C condensor and the radiator and then uses low speed fan when A/C is on:confused: or vice-versa, I cant remember which but you get the picture, right;) |
ok got ya so if u change the relay for the fan speeds u think it should not overheat if that's the problem and how much u think the relay would cost me?
|
Its the other way around, the fan kicks into high speed when the a/c is on to get more air threw the condenser.

If the problem is happening whenever the A/C is on I would check the condensor. It could be icing up blocking air flow to the radiator causing the car to overheat. This is easy to check run the car with a/c till you see temp starting to rise higher then normal then wait and turn of car. check the condensor for ice if you see any that is your problem.
