hey

hey ive had my 06 v6 for like 6 months about to run into some cash so i was gonna get the following :

Magnaflow Dual Exhaust Catback System (2005+ Mustang V6) :$543.99

BBK Chrome Tuned Length Shorty Headers (2005+ V6) :$269.99

BBK Cold Air Intake (2005+ V6) :$189.99

Steeda97 07-05-2008 05:34 PM

Ditch the headers.

hendrixinmyhead 07-06-2008 09:15 AM

what are good headers then? do i need a new throttle control also?

hendrixinmyhead 07-06-2008 09:22 AM

Pypes Polished 304 Stainless Steel Shorty Headers (2005+ V6) :$279.99

is this one better? or what should i look for?

Dave04Mustang 07-06-2008 09:25 AM

If you were to replace headers the only way to go is long tube headers. Shorty's are a waste since the stock ones already flow pretty well

Steeda97 07-06-2008 09:59 AM

Keep the stock manifolds.

r3dn3ck 07-06-2008 10:30 AM

take your 1000 bucks and put it in the bank till there's 2 more just like it, then buy a blower and call it a day. Bolt-on bits aint gunna do enough to justify their idiotically high cost until you have more beef to start with.

hendrixinmyhead 07-06-2008 11:38 AM

is the cold air a good start though? or any ideas?

The 05+ stangs respond pretty well to CAI. Most come with a handheld tuner to get the most gains you want one that comes with a tune. The exhaust will basically just be for sound.

r3dn3ck 07-06-2008 01:22 PM

the v8 05+ respond really well to CAI's but I don't think you get much with a v6 car (could be wrong but pretty sure it's a tiny shitty gain). Typically a CAI is the single worst investment in making power. Some very specific models (05 GT, 03 cobra, Mach1, 00' R) get really significant gains from a CAI but that's due to them being assplugged from the factory.

If you just want more goose for passing and racing, then perhaps a 50-75hp dry shot of nitrous would be the best solution. You can pick up nitrous for under a grand installed and filled up, bolt-on bits just ain't worth a damn on a NA v6 car.

spike_africa 07-06-2008 02:00 PM

Even the v6 cars on 05+ get really nice gains with a good CAI and a tune. I would get a different intake setup. Justin from vmptuning.com has nice v6 CAI/tune combos and hes a damn good tuner to boot. As for te exhaust it depends what your really looking for sound or power. If you just want sound a nice muffler replacement deal which are also cheap would be the way to go.

05-08 Mustang V6 Custom SCT X-Cal2 or X3 Flasher and C&L Intake
Price : $625.00

that a good one?

hendrixinmyhead 07-07-2008 06:37 PM

hey how do you reset the ecu on a 2006 v6

spike_africa 07-08-2008 08:39 AM

Whatever setup he has for the v6 with a cai and tuner combo would be good. Justin the owner I know personally and is a great tuner and stand up guy about his products and tunes. You will get a nice gain with there tune/cai combo. As for resetting the computer I dont know why you need to do that, but just take the ground off the battery and turn the headlights on for 10 mins and the ecu will be cleared and reset.

stangcharger 07-08-2008 02:02 PM

http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index...=200&parent=92

that is your best performance for the money hands down. justin is very good.

Includes:$599.00

All of these parts combined add 25 Rear Wheel Horse Power and 20 Rear Wheel Torque

hendrixinmyhead 07-08-2008 03:44 PM

nice ima get that one, is there a way where i could get the c&l intake housing, or something like it (the chrome one), not the stock one like the vmp intake has?

hendrixinmyhead 07-08-2008 04:24 PM

Nice. Kinda like when someone ran me off the road last month (hit & run). I just got her back and are back into the swing of adding things. Is yours the Tungsten Gray? If so, sweet. Mine is below. I have been debating the racer stripes on mine. I saw one near me and it looks badass. My fiance however thinks otherwise. Haha.. Do you have the rocker stripe?

hendrixinmyhead 07-10-2008 07:19 PM

yea my passanger side one is comin off ima replace it with this:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/rocker...ck-letter.html

and the racing stripes look pretty sweet on it, yea its the same gray color ima do alot of modding when i get my injury check (Not gonna be for a couple of months). im just tryin to figure out a good CAI and exhaust and i got a pretty good idea of what to get (bbk CAI and flowmaster exhaust kit)

Stangurey 07-10-2008 07:33 PM

Awesome... How wide are the racing stripes you have?
