Default New Lights? Or New Covers?

I want to make my mustang look a little more unique. (Its an 05) I'm thinking of buying the smoked out front and rear light covers from americanmuscle.com. Before I do, I was hoping someone could share some thoughts about them. Also should I be getting covers, or just whole new lights. I like the look of the "blacked out" covers, I'm just worried about laws (California) and safety issues. Any thoughts would be much appreciated, Thanks Guys

I think that the covers look cheap and tacky personally.

Blackout covers look cheap, maybe a subtle tint will do the trick for you.
What color is your car?

Get new smoked headlights. Covers don't look so hot.

I got the covers and I hear everyone saying that "the tints on your headlights look sick" so it looks authenic. I like them personally because if you dont want your headlights tinted all the time you can take them off whenever. Only thing I dont like is that they dont snap all the way on and they move just a little. They wont fall off though.

Thanks for the advice everyone. My color is Mineral Gray. @Rmac, how well do your lights work w/ the covers on? Im worried about California's laws, because I really don't want to get pulled over! Thanks again -
