Default 3.73:1 gears and T-Lok rear end.

I hear that gears are well worth the money as far as acceleration goes. I'm lookin to install 3.73:1 or 4.10:1 gears with a T-Lok differential. Basically I want the best acceleration I can get high rpm's dont make a difference to me so maybe the 4.10's. I'm wondering what is the best way of doing this. To be honest I don't know too much about the rears. My knowlege lies more within the induction/exhaust. So I need help on what exactly i need to do to get rollin with that set up. also If anyone has places to purchase any suggested parts that would be great too. Question is should I go with 8.8 or 7.5? I dont know what fits/works but If anyone can help me out with what to get I should have no problem gettin it in there. Thx for the help!

www.gefracing.com has good prices on frpp stuff.

as for 7.5 or 8.8 it depends on what kind of power you have or what you plan. if you are going to be stock then stay with the 7.5, if you plan on adding a power adder you might wanna consider going 8.8 just to be safe

So where can I get a full 8.8" rear axle assembly with T-Lok and 4.10:1 gears... anyone know? I assume the 8.8" diff and axle is already T-Lok but am I going to have to get the gears separate or is there a package somewhere that has it? And what kind of job is that to replace the rear axle in a mustang? One more thing... am I going to have to get this tuned or recalibrate the speedo or anything like that, whats the aftermath of this job if any?

the 8.8 already has a t-lok so you would most likely have to buy the gears. i would start checkin on ebay, there are always people selling the whole assembly. other then that im not really sure where to get new but i bet summit or jegs would have something.

not sure what year your car is but 94-98 need a speedo gear to correct the speedometer and 98+need some sort of tune
